The latest advice from the NHS on IG with
Social Care Staff Documents
In the next few months as we slowly evolve into the future ICSs it will become increasingly important that we provide similar structured frameworks for other organisations to follow.
During the COVID pandemic we have been expecting social care staff to safely report on various biometric measurements eg blood pressure and pulse oximetry and increased the use of virtual methods of providing ongoing clinical care to residents/clients care in various care establishments.
It is important that we, as clinicians offer support and training for the staff involved and also if necessary provide guidelines, competency record sheets to confirm that they have undergone basic training, to ensure that clinical decisions can be confidently made by the health care professional involved in the residents/clients care.
These easy to understand competency guides, advice sheets etc are to use if not available at the establishment undergoing the training.
