Take a look at our publication describing how general practice nurses in Staffordshire have been able to prevent vascular leg problems like leg ulcers getting worse by spotting the problem early using state of the art kit to measure the ankle-brachial pressure index in an automated way.
This took just a few minutes in a general practice setting – compared to a traditional doppler test that can take up to 60 minutes in another NHS setting.
The findings indicate the potential cost savings for the NHS by creating a service improvement programme underpinned by an agreed cross-settings leg ulcer pathway.
